Ingredients used to prepare Laapsi Gujrati Recipe :

  • Wheat Flour – 250 GMS
  • Desi Ghee – 80 GMS
  • Jaggery – 140 GMS
  • Water – 250 GMS

 

Instructions for preparing Laapsi Gujrati Recipe :

  • Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add wheat flour and roast it on low to medium heat until it turns golden brown and you can smell a nutty aroma. Stir frequently to avoid burning.
  • In a separate pot, heat water and add the grated or chopped jaggery. Stir until the jaggery dissolves completely. Strain the jaggery syrup to remove impurities.
  • Carefully pour the jaggery syrup into the roasted wheat flour mixture. Be cautious, as it may splutter.
  • Mix well and let it simmer. Add cardamom powder and, if desired, a pinch of saffron strands for additional flavor and aroma.
  • Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the cracked wheat is fully cooked and the mixture attains a porridge-like consistency. This may take around 20-30 minutes.
  • If using nutmeg powder, add it at this stage and mix well.
