What is Milk Modak Recipe ?
Milk Modak is a modern twist on the traditional Modak, a sweet dumpling deeply ingrained in Indian culture and often associated with Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity. The classic Modak is typically made with rice flour dough and filled with a mixture of grated coconut and jaggery. However, this particular recipe takes a creative turn, incorporating milk powder and condensed milk to craft a rich, creamy, and delectable filling encased in a soft outer layer.
This fusion dessert offers a delightful variation to celebrate festive occasions, especially during the revered festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. Ingredients used to prepare Milk Modak Recipe :
- Rice flour – 250 GMS
- Sugar – 100 GMS
- Desi ghee – 60 GMS
- Grated coconut – 30 GMS
- Almonds – 02 TSP
- Pistachio – 02 TSP
- Cashew – 02 TSP
- Milk – 1/2 LTR
- Elaichi powder – 01 TSP
- Kesar – 1/2 TSP
Instructions for preparing Milk Modak Recipe :
- In a pan add Desi ghee & after the ghee melts add rice flour & stir it until the flour is roasted in a medium flame so that it does’nt burn.
- After the rice flour is little bit roasted add cashew & almonds, also add coconut powder in the flour & roast until the smell of the dryfruits & coconut powder arouse.
- Remove the roasted rice flour in a plate & keep it aside.
- Now heat the same pan and add fat milk & stir it until the milk turns into a thick mava like consistency.
- Keep stiring the milk in a high flame.
- Once the milk starts boiling add sugar in the milk & stir.
- After the sugar gets melt completely, add kesar & keep stiring until the milk turns thick.
- So after a few minutes when there is no water part left in the milk add the roasted rice flour mixture in the milk & mix it well.
- Now the modak mixture is ready, remove it in a plate & let it cool down.
- Now using a modak mould start making the modak (you can refer to video ).
- Place the sliced pistachio in the mould while making modak for a nice look.
- You will definetely get a perfect shaped modak in no time.
- This is very time consuming sweet recipe but it taste a heaven when you taste it & will crave for the same again & again.
- Arrange the Milk Modaks on a serving plate and offer them as a delicious and auspicious treat during your festive celebrations.
