What is Moong Dal Bhajiya Recipe ?

Moong Dal Bhajiya, also known as Moong Dal Pakoras, is a popular and delectable Indian snack that’s both crispy and flavorful. Made from yellow moong dal, these deep-fried fritters are a favorite during rainy days, tea-time gatherings, or as an appetizer for various celebrations. Moong Dal Bhajiya is incredibly versatile and can be customized to suit individual preferences. You can add finely chopped vegetables like spinach or grated carrots to enhance the nutritional content and add more texture.

The preparation involves grinding soaked moong dal into a coarse paste, resulting in fritters with a delightful contrast in texture. The exterior is crispy, while the interior remains soft and almost creamy. The use of cumin seeds, turmeric powder, asafoetida, and green chilies contributes to the robust and aromatic flavor of the bhajiyas. Freshly chopped coriander leaves add a burst of freshness.

Moong Dal Bhajiya is naturally gluten-free since it primarily relies on moong dal and rice flour for binding. This makes it suitable for individuals with gluten sensitivity or those following a gluten-free diet. You can find Moong Dal Bhajiya being prepared and enjoyed as a popular street food snack across various regions in India. The enticing aroma of these fritters being deep-fried is often irresistible.
