What is Vegetable Fried Rice Recipe?
Fried Rice is an Indo Chinese dish made by stir frying cooked rice along with a blend of vegetables, gravies in a wok. Fried Rice is an sweet, mild yet flavorful dish and is fairly healthy with a lot of vegetables. Fried Rice is popularly made then with the Indianised interpretation of Chinese cookery and is a veritably popular fast food.
Veg Fried Rice is a great choice in a grand lunch menu or for special occasions. Chinese food is done in flash cuisine so if all the constituents are ready the dish gets done in no time. Hands down this is one of our family favourites and utmost demanded dish at home. I would say this Fried Rice form is healthy and delicious to be served for all periods. I don’t add Ajinomotto as in hospices considering health reasons – the added benefit of plus and disadvantage depending on our choices at the comfort of our home.
Still this Fried Rice tastes soo good and the smokey flavour comes from stir frying and tossing the blend in high honey. In authentic Fried Rice generally soya sauce isn’t added but I add it for the umami flavour. I generally skip all the gravies just rice mixed with vegetables with lots of garlic and pepper and they love it.

Ingredients used to prepare Veg Fried Rice Recipe:
- Basmati Rice – 250 gms
- Onion – 02 pcs
- Spring Onion – 01 bundle
- Carrot – 02 pcs
- Capsicum – 02 pcs
- Cabbage – 01 cup
- Garlic Paste – 01 tsp
- Ginger & Green chilly paste – 01 tsp
- Tomato sauce – 1 1/2 tsp
- Schezwan sauce – 1 1/2 tsp
- Soya sauce – 1 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – 01 tsp
- Groundnut oil – 04 tsp
Instructions for preparing Vegetable Fried Rice Recipe:
- In a pan add groundnut oil or any other oil you use for cooking.
- Let the oil gets heated. Once the oil is ready to cook add ginger & green chilly paste & garlic paste.
- Then add Onion & spring onion, saute it on a medium flame until they turns golden.
- Now keeping the gas flame medium add the veggies like cabbage, carrots, capsicum also you can add the corns if you like.
- Now saute the veggies for 5-8 minutes so that the smokey aroma makes the rice smells tasty.
- After all the veggies have been well sauted keep the flame low and add salt, schezwan sauce, soya sauce, tomato sauce, black pepper also you can add vinegar if needed but i have not used.
- Add the Rice which we have already kept ready in the veggies.
- Mix the veggies with the rice well, you don’t need to keep it on the gas flame once the rice is added.
- So your Veg Fried Rice is ready to serve turn the gas flame off & remove the veg fried rice in a serving bowl.
- Sprinkle some green onion on above the Fried Rice, it looks very delicious.

Some Tips for Veg Fried Rice Recipe:
- Don’t skip spring onions as gives a good quantum of chinese flavour to the fried rice.
- Generally they add only spring onion and skip raw but if you like you can add slived onion too. Add it after garlic is sauted.
- Mincing the veggies veritably fine helps in cooking briskly.
- Sauteing the veggies in medium flame gives a nice smokey flavour and also retains its crunchiness without the raw smell.
- I soaked the basmati rice for 15 mins also cooked in cookstove top.
- Make sure to fluff the rice and spread it with little oil painting to make the grains separate.
- Allow it to rest atleast for 30 mins before mixing.
- Don’t add further soya sauce than mentioned quantum differently your fried rice color will be on the darker side also soya sauce will be over important.
